Minecraft Education - Coding Fundamentals (Block 3)
1 Topic • 6 Lessons
Become a stronger Minecraft coder! Students use block-based coding to solve bigger challenges, create smarter builds, and practice thinking like real programmers.
In this course, students continue the Minecraft Education standard curriculum and strengthen their coding foundation through creative, hands-on missions.
Students will learn about:
- Advanced block-based coding practice
- Using loops, sequences, and logic in bigger challenges
- Planning code before building a solution
- Testing and improving their code
- Debugging mistakes with confidence
- Building creativity, patience, and problem-solving skills
⏳🧩 Minecraft Education: Coding Fundamentals — Block 3
Travel through time. Solve bigger challenges. Code with confidence!
The time machine has gone wrong—and now students must code their way through history to get back home!
In Coding Fundamentals — Block 3: Running Out of Time, students follow the official Minecraft Education Coding Fundamentals curriculum and build on everything they learned in Blocks 1 and 2.
This time, students move beyond basic commands and begin combining multiple coding concepts to solve larger, more creative challenges.
Students will learn how to:
⚡ Use events to make code run when something happens
📦 Create and use variables to store changing information
🤔 Use conditionals to make programs respond to different situations
🔁 Combine loops and nested loops to complete larger tasks efficiently
🧱 Create functions to organize and reuse sections of code
💬 Add comments to explain and keep track of their programs
🤖 Use the Minecraft Agent to build, collect, explore, and solve challenges
🧩 Combine several coding concepts inside the same program
🐞 Test and debug programs when things don’t work as expected
💡 Explore different solutions to the same problem
🏆 Apply their coding skills more independently in a final challenge
🕰️ A Coding Adventure Through Time
Students travel through different historical environments while trying to repair a malfunctioning time-travel device.
Every new destination asks students to think more independently:
Which coding concept should I use?
Could a function make this program easier?
How can I make my code shorter and smarter?
Why didn’t my solution work?
Can I solve this challenge another way?
By the end of Block 3, students will have practiced combining events, variables, functions, loops, conditionals, sequencing, algorithms, and debugging while developing greater confidence as independent coders.
They will no longer be learning just individual coding blocks—they will be learning how to put programming concepts together to design complete solutions.
🔒 Enroll to unlock the time machine and begin your final Coding Fundamentals adventure!
